To kick off the Summer Carson starts a new round of therapists at Shriners Hospital. Yesterday we went to his first appt where they took xrays. Miracle among miracles Carsons hips looked good. Which is amazing since he refuses to stand now for the most part. (The trampoline works wonders for his body and kicking around!!!)
So now he will start a new plan of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy to keep things flowing and hopefully improve. Then in 2 weeks its off to Primary Childrens for an MRI. Check out his brain and make sure there isn't any seizure activity areas, water pocket enlargement and check the myelination. Oh and hope that his frontal lobe area has developed more--ie the area that makes him feel so insane in the day! After that he has an eye appt to make sure the retinas, and main optic nerve is intact and looking good.Primary Childrens appt to make sure he doesn't have any cavities to be worked on. More blood work to check his liver levels with the drugs he has to take. Psychologist appts to keep his meds regulated so that he can cope and most of all ...get some sleep.
I tell you, he has one fun Summer scheduled! Yes, I am laughing at our crazy life at the moment. Have you ever heard that Alanis Morissette song "Ironic." Theres so much truth to that! Yet, we are all here in this life to learn and grow. So its all good. We are still blessed with many wonderful moments throughout each day!
